Beaujolais Lantignié Rouge 2016
A totally enjoyable Beaujolais Village. Strawberries on the nose are followed by deeper aromas of spice & jammy red fruit. Perfect for washing down a plate of charcuterie, shared with a grilled bavette or as a last bottle before bed.
Good Wines From French Hillsides, Where Vines Abound and Cyclists Roam Free.
Lantignié, an exceptional, off-the-beaten-path terroir of the Beaujolais, faces due south on the slopes below the Avenas pass. Here the granite subsoil is full of rare and precious minerals such as quartz, fluorspar and baryte, that provide plenty of fuel to the vines and complexity to the wines. Our winemaker Frederic Berne is devoted to his terroir and his craft. A pioneer of agroecologie in the Beaujolais, Fred is also a proud ambassador of his village Latignie.
Beaujolais Lantignié Blanc 2016
A neat white wine with pleasing initial aromas of honeysuckle and blossom. Apples and ripe pears follow-on and the granite terroir of this rare Beaujolais Chardonnay give the wine a refreshing mineral structure. Enjoy as an apero; with a dozen oysters or alongside a grilled goats-cheese salad.
